Responsibilities

• Knowing and following all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
• Aiding and directing the training of other employees in operating procedures.
• Reporting to assigned locations for training and participating in training activities.
• Performing first aid and fire fighting duties when required.
• Exhibiting competency in job-related activities.
• Keeping equipment, tools, and work areas clean and orderly.
• Reporting to facilities as needed.
• Performing work responsibly and cooperatively.
• Compiling and generating reports, forms, and documents.
• Representing the company to the community with high standards of conduct.
• Reporting to supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Distribution Helper or equivalent, with successful completion of training and testing programs.
• Operator qualification in tasks such as electrofusion, socket fusion, saddle fusion, butt fusion, mechanical jointing, taping service tees, house line testing, serving testing, asbestos abatement, asbestos awareness, basic corrosion, excavation competent person, locating underground piping, plug valve operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with and good working knowledge of gas systems operations, maintenance, and construction.
• Willingness to work outside under varying weather conditions.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic functions.
• Knowledge and compliance with traffic control rules and regulations.
• Working knowledge in the operation and servicing of available equipment such as air compressors, backhoes, loaders, tractors, etc., and safely operating the same.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, rules, and regulations.
