Responsibilities
- Assist supervisor in keeping the department operating efficiently.
- Perform supervisory duties as needed.
- Accommodate the needs of operators as required.
- Operate machinery or perform jobs in other departments as needed.
- Assist supervision in regard to safety, housekeeping, and employee job performance.
Environmental/Safety
- Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials to minimize environmental impact.
- Follow prescribed safety rules/procedures to prevent injury to self and others.
- Seek assistance and advice from safety representatives on safe practices, policies, and procedures.
- Support all safety committee activities.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Report environmental and safety policy violations to supervision/management.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Normal warehouse working conditions; shift schedule may vary.
- Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
- Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds using proper techniques.
- Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must obtain a valid forklift truck operator’s license.
- Able to read, count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly.
- Proficient in using word processing tools and computer-based systems.
- Must follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.
- Familiar with warehouse operating systems.
- Able to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
- Able to shift priorities easily.
- Must work well with others.
- Good attendance record and no active final written warning disciplinary status.
