Distribution Lead
About the role
The Warehouse Lead supports business operations by communicating daily tasks and priorities to the warehouse team to maintain a smooth flow of materials in and out of the warehouse in a safe and orderly manner, maintaining high performance objectives for all departmental standards including timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and in the absence of a supervisor is the point of reference for questions regarding job responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all production efforts
- Maintain an accurate and productive work environment aimed at consistently achieving high customer service standards.
- Must be certified or able to successfully past certification of forklift operation, training provided on-site.
- Operate manual dollies, manual platform lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and hand tools used in warehouse operations safely and as instructed.
- Adherent to all safety and security policies including general site safety, forklift operation, and truck driving.
- Able to interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and manuals.
- Positive attitude / self–motivated
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor warehouse associates in job functions.
- Assists in training new and temporary agency employees to perform job functions.
- Assign workload according to requirements to ensure delegated work is completed in time.
- Supervise the daily procedures of various departments and/or employees and ensure smooth flow of work.
- Communicate with various employees, departments, vendors, and others to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues, and coordinate activities.
- Function as a bridge for communication between the supervisor and the employees.
- Operate and instruct others in the operation of material moving equipment, stand up forklift and related vehicles inside the warehouse.
- Determine sequence for loading and unloading shipments for maximum space utilization, safety, and damage protection.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily; arrange for maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed.
- Perform computer lookup/inquiries to determine product location and/or description.
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of items received, and counting of physical inventory.
- Identify obvious damage to equipment and materials through visual inspection.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines.
- Meet or exceed accuracy and productivity expectations.
- Assist in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary.
- Flexibility to work independently to resolve issues and problems in daily assignments.
Requirements
- Must be able to move around in a large, fast-paced warehouse for 8 hours or more.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. frequently.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces.
- Requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Skills
- Reliable transportation
- Previous knowledge of voice replenishment and RF equipment
- Previous receiving experience
- Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification, warehouse procedures, and storage areas to pull stock and materials.
- Forklift certifiable

Pay
Starting Hourly Rate: $23.60. The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
