About the Role

Under general supervision, this position manages specific functions of the warehouse and operations, including warehouse activities, temporary contracted workers, carriers, and/or company drivers. Responsibilities encompass receipt, inventory, material handling, and safety of goods. The role provides oversight to ensure a safe and reliable environment, working with internal and external contacts to manage, route, and deliver inventory accurately. Incumbents must be flexible to work any shift—day, night, or weekend—to meet operational demands. Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, or account coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls, timely processing of goods, and maintenance of warehouse cleanliness and environment.
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with personnel to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
  • Ensure on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions for freight and adjusting ETAs based on pick-up/delivery schedules and road conditions.
  • Communicate operational safety standards, enforce company policies, and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Resolve service issues related to routing, receipt, inventory, material handling, and safety of goods, including on-call support when necessary.
  • Coordinate warehouse resources to maintain operational processes.
  • Perform administrative duties such as payroll, budget management, safety event reviews, defect documentation, invoicing, and creating operational or financial reports.
  • Maximize operational efficiency and profitability, recommend improvements, and measure key performance indicators for operations and warehouse processes.
  • Manage personnel, including training, orientation, and assistance with internal and third-party systems.
  • Fill in for absent personnel or assist with special projects to optimize operations and achieve profitability.
  • Assist warehouse workers with duties such as operating loading/unloading vehicles, preparing goods, and processing receipts and inventory.
  • Assist in yard management as part of daily tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience, and the ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field and 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience in distribution or warehouse operations.
  • Experience training others.
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements, including lifting/moving items up to 100 pounds.

Pay

Compensation factors such as skills, education, experience, and geography may affect starting pay within the range. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes, in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans.
