Distribution Coordinator II

Under general supervision, this position manages specific functions of the warehouse and operations including warehouse, temporary contracted workers, carriers, and/or company drivers. Incumbents must be able to work any shift to satisfy operational demands, including day, night, and weekend shifts. Occasional travel for training, meetings, and account coverage may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods in compliance with internal controls.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and proper environment for inventory storage and handling.
• Build and maintain positive professional relationships with personnel to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Ensure on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions on freight and ETA adjustments.
• Communicate and enforce operational safety standards, warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
• Create a positive safety culture by enforcing company policies and compliance with safety regulations.
• Resolve service issues related to routing, receipt, inventory, material handling, and safety of goods.
• Coordinate warehouse resources to maintain efficient working processes.
• Perform administrative duties such as payroll, budget management, safety event reviews, defect documentation, and financial reporting.
• Maximize operational efficiency and profitability; recommend and measure continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage personnel, including training, orientation, and assistance with internal and third-party systems.
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with special projects to optimize operations and achieve profitability.
• Assist warehouse workers with duties such as operating loading/unloading vehicles and processing receipts and inventory.
• Assist in yard management as part of daily tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Demonstrated skills in customer service, accurate information processing, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
• Effective communication and ability to influence and meet team/driver needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in distribution and warehouse operations.
• Experience training others.
• Ability to fulfill physical requirements, including lifting/moving items up to 100 pounds.
