Stryten’s factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America, with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries are used in cars, boats, RVs, and lawn and garden equipment. Responsibilities

• Supervise direct and indirect employees to meet established distribution schedules.
• Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and communication standards while controlling costs.
• Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Foster a strong safety-minded culture and communicate expectations clearly.
• Implement plant policies and procedures regarding safety and health.
• Assign and monitor work to achieve production efficiency.
• Direct, train, review, and discipline hourly employees as required.
• Recognize employees who exceed expectations.
• Ensure production meets quality standards and control scrap to minimize rework.
• Understand root causes and help develop countermeasures.
• Assist in establishing and setting up equipment for distribution positions or improved processes.
• Report and follow through on equipment and maintenance problems.
• Enforce all personnel policies and procedures.
• Manage employee overtime hours and shift efficiencies.
• Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
• Ensure completion of DOT training.
• Use inventory systems (JDE).
• Complete hazardous waste training, including proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, manifest preparation, and labeling requirements.
• Attend all scheduled meetings and training.
• Undertake assigned projects as directed by Plant or Department Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a Distribution setting.
• Solid skills with Excel preferred.

Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in the distribution center; required to be on site.
• Activities include sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, walking, and twisting.
• Exposure to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
• Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds.

Equipment Used: General office equipment, PC, JDE and Microsoft Office software, and required Personal Protective Equipment.

Schedule

D shift: Thursday–Saturday, every other Wednesday; 5:25 pm to 6:00 am.
