About the role

The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for ensuring consistent application of standard operating procedures, while working with local building leadership to identify opportunities to improve processes, and support the implementation of network design enhancements such as technical systems or training initiatives. Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager or Senior Manager, this role drives operational excellence within the Distribution Center and partners closely with team members to deliver on customer expectations and meet operational KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises elements of daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and route management as required.
  • Supervises the timely and accurate completion of all picking, receiving, put away, load/ship of all orders, product returns.
  • Ensure SOPs are consistently applied.
  • Supervises or leads daily team Safety meetings and daily pre-trip & post-trip inspections.
  • Responsible for the protection of company assets which includes inventory, equipment, and facility.
  • Maintains the facility, equipment and vehicles and will resolve any issues which may interfere with the safe, efficient, and least cost operation of the Distribution Center.
  • Ensures the execution of company safety initiatives while managing the safe and on-time delivery of products to customers.
  • Compliance to all company policies and procedures within building.
  • Deliver TRIR (Total Reportable Incidence Rate) and Preventable Accident at expected performance levels for the location.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory training to ensure that staff is equipped to perform assigned duties.
  • As needed, provide hands-on support for day-to-day operations, including determining routes, operating MHE, moving inventory, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An Associate degree in Logistics, Business or other related disciplines is preferred or equivalent experience in a distribution or transportation environment.
  • Demonstrated management experience including leadership, time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work well under pressure (prioritize, manage time, maintain composure.)
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
  • Safety 1st Mentality.
  • Proactive team player with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds while bending and twisting.
  • Must maintain a current driver’s license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends, as needed.
  • 24/7 access to cell phone, email and security system in case of an emergency.
  • ERP and Routing Software experience a plus.
  • High level of professional integrity.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
