Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the fulfillment of orders by part number and quantity based on prioritized pick tickets, including customer orders, inter-branch transfers, and returns.
- Plan and manage daily shipping and receiving schedules to ensure inbound and outbound freight is processed according to defined timelines.
- Provide input on staffing needs and assist with labor planning based on volume fluctuations.
- Prepare, pack, label, and ship orders via parcel, postal service, LTL, and local delivery routes.
- Ensure products are accurately picked, staged, and loaded for delivery with required documentation, maintaining accuracy levels of 99% or higher.
- Train new hires on equipment operation, warehouse procedures, and facility standards; follow up to ensure training effectiveness.
- Adjust staffing levels and overtime to meet changing workload demands.
- Cook up with internal departments to ensure shipment deadlines and service requirements are met.
- Develop and implement receiving and distribution plans that effectively utilize labor, floor space, and equipment.
- Modify work processes as needed to meet productivity, safety, and service goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, safety conditions, and equipment utilization.
- Address operational issues and support team members in resolving day-to-day problems.
- Motivate associates to meet performance and service expectations.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and management to align departmental activities.
- Report equipment or system issues to maintenance or appropriate support teams.
- Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Actively participate in physical inventory counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Complete special projects or assignments as needed in support of warehouse leadership.
- Support inventory control processes and basic recordkeeping.
Education & Training
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent is preferred
- 3 years of warehouse supervisory experience
- Experience working in a distribution, parts, or inventory-driven environment
- Familiarity with WMS and strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and basic data tools
