Distribution Center Group Lead

About the role

This position provides operational and leadership support to the DC Supervisor, including planning and organizing department goals, managing the flow of work, and overseeing department hours. You will lead a team of associates by fostering a collaborative environment, communicating business needs, and addressing training requirements. The role ensures a welcoming, fun, and safe workplace.

Schedule

• Front Half: Sunday–Wednesday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (overtime as needed)
• Back Half: Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (overtime as needed)
• PM: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM (overtime as needed)

Responsibilities

• Assists Supervisor in planning and organizing department goals by understanding priorities and proactively managing workflow and hours.
• Communicates effectively with Supervisor and associates, both verbally and in writing.
• Partners with Supervisor to build a team environment through strong floor performance and modeling positive, professional behavior.
• Possesses knowledge of all DC systems, ensures associates follow procedures, and provides performance feedback.
• Coordinates training for current and new hire associates.
• Promotes and generates safety awareness.
• Ensures associates follow all safety, hazardous material, and OSHA training, rules, and reporting; leads accident prevention initiatives.

Requirements

• Knowledge of DC operations.
• Exceptional performance record and ability to maintain high standards.
• Proficiency with PCs and software; ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions, including:
  • Standing continuously for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds up to 50% of working hours (may include lifting above/below shoulder or waist level).
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Continuous use of hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity (grasping/holding).
  • Functioning in elevated locations.
  • Completing power equipment training.

Qualifications
