Disputes, Commercial Litigation Associate, Mid-Level

About the role

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is seeking mid-level associates to join its Litigation practice in the Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will have four to six years of post‑law school experience handling complex commercial litigation matters, preferably in a large law firm, judicial clerkship, or a comparable legal environment. The associate will work on all phases of litigation, including managing written and document discovery, drafting pleadings, and conducting legal research to support case strategy. This position offers the opportunity to take on significant responsibility while working closely with partners and clients on high‑stakes disputes.

Responsibilities

• Manage written and document discovery
• Draft pleadings
• Conduct legal research to support case strategy
• Handle all phases of litigation
• Work on motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case management
• Collaborate directly with partners and clients on sophisticated matters
• Take on increasing levels of responsibility and provide strategic judgment

Requirements

• Admitted to the California Bar
• Four to six years of post‑law school experience in complex commercial litigation (large firm, judicial clerkship, or comparable environment)
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus but not required
