Dispensary General Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dispensary General Manager to lead our Somerville, MA dispensary through an exciting period of growth and transition. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced retail leader to play a pivotal role in bringing the EMBR brand, operational standards, and guest experience to a new market.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales performance by executing promotions, merchandising initiatives, and customer engagement strategies.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, labor, average basket size, conversion, inventory variance, and profitability to identify opportunities for growth.
Manage daily sales reporting, cash handling, and reconciliation of all financial transactions.
Ensure accurate daily bank deposits and maintain strict cash accountability procedures.
Develop and manage store budgets while controlling labor and operating expenses.
Partner with Regional Leadership to execute strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
Oversee all day-to-day retail operations while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and professionalism.
Ensure compliance with all Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) regulations, company SOPs, and all applicable state and local laws.
Maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and proper METRC inventory management.
Ensure all security, safety, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
Identify operational opportunities and implement solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
Foster a guest-first culture focused on education, hospitality, and exceptional service.
Address customer concerns promptly, professionally, and with a solution-oriented approach.
Continuously coach the team to deliver an outstanding retail experience that reflects the EMBR brand.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive retail management experience, including at least two (2) years leading a high-volume retail operation.
Previous cannabis retail management experience strongly preferred.
Thorough understanding of Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) regulations and cannabis retail compliance preferred.
Proven track record of driving sales growth, operational excellence, and team development.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, inventory control, and reporting.
Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to adapt quickly, lead through change, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with retail POS systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory management software.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
