Dispatcher - Public Transit

About the role

Beaver County Transit Authority is seeking a full‑time experienced dispatcher. The dispatcher directs bus operators in the delivery of service, monitors performance, and makes recommendations to improve day‑to‑day service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure highest quality service to customers using state‑of‑the‑art computer aided dispatch.
• Resolve delivery issues for fixed routes and other services.
• Assist with driving responsibilities when needed.
• Ensure all bus operators are fit for duty before their shift and that all routes are covered.
• Respond to bus operator issues in accordance with policy and procedures regarding accidents, detours, breakdowns, emergencies, and adverse weather conditions.
• Prepare paperwork for work assignments, operator hours, absences, and payroll.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3‑5 years of experience in transit/transportation operations.
• Valid CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Computer experience.
• Ability to pass a CDL physical examination and comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements (safety‑sensitive position).

Pay

Starting wage is $26 per hour.

Schedule

Monday & Tuesday: 3:45 am – 1:45 pm; Friday: 1:30 pm – 11:30 pm; Saturday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm.
