Dispatcher Patient Transport

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a variety of transportation services, including dispatching transporters within the hospital and/or to participant residence.
• Respond to requests and assign staff, drivers, and participant attendants to perform services on an established priority basis.
• Prioritize requests and change priority of requests to ensure timely response.
• Monitor activities during transport to ensure transporters move from dispatches to completion in a timely manner.
• Assist in the coordination of the optimization of transportation services.
• Inform supervisor of activity level when additional support is needed and assist with resolution of those issues.
• Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives regarding safety and infection control.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• High School diploma or equivalency, or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
