Dispatcher - Dedicated Trucking

About the role

Miller Dedicated Services is hiring a Dispatcher for our Swedesboro, NJ location. Join a family-owned business with over 100 years of experience, a fleet of 8,000+ trucks, and 40+ diesel maintenance shops across the Northeast. Responsibilities

• Prepare daily dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment
• Utilize dynamic routing program to efficiently route outbound product
• Build and update inbound and outbound orders in dispatch program
• Respond promptly to driver inquiries regarding delays, traffic, directions, etc.
• Monitor drivers' hours to prevent DOT violations
• Adjust delivery and backhaul assignments to accommodate unforeseen route changes
• Follow attendance policy, arrive on time, and work assigned shift
• Perform other duties as required and assigned
• Effectively use radio, telephone, or computer to transmit assignments

Requirements

• 2+ years of dispatching experience
• 2+ years of CDL A professional driving experience
• Experience with MS Office, Transportation Management Systems, DOT Rules and Regulations
• Ability to build positive relationships with drivers and customers
• Composure in all interactions and a team-oriented attitude
• Strong reasoning, negotiating, and instructing skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Coachable attitude and approach
• High focus on customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent

Schedule

Monday - Friday from 3:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays if needed.

• College degree

Pay

• $24 - $25 per hour for dispatch-only role
• $28 - $29 per hour for dispatchers with CDL A and willingness to drive if needed
