About the role

The Truck Dispatcher role is pivotal in coordinating and facilitating our fast-paced asphalt hauling operations. You will coordinate the daily scheduling, routing, and dispatching of a mixed fleet consisting of company-owned trucks and independent third-party owner-operators (sub-haulers).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of daily truck logs.
  • Monitor the dispatching of company trucks, ensuring timely and optimized deployment.
  • Process and accurately code time sheets for financial tracking.
  • Collaborate with the truck foreman to provide support.
  • Cookordinate with the current dispatcher to share the daily dispatch workload and ensure seamless coverage.
  • Facilitate the relay of work orders, messages, and pertinent information between supervisors and drivers.
  • Engage with supervisory personnel to address inquiries, challenges, and service or inventory requests.
  • Develop and distribute daily work schedules.
  • Promptly notify department leads of potential safety or equipment concerns.
  • Adhere to established processes and procedures, ensuring precision and compliance.
  • Wear appropriate attire, footwear, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned or required.

  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, and GPS tracking tools.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience as a dispatcher, demonstrating a solid understanding of the operational intricacies involved.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • A minimum of 1 year of dispatching experience (preferred).
  • A valid Driver's License (preferred).
