Dispatcher/Customer Service Rep (Clerk 2, Local Government) - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging
Located in scenic Honesdale, PA, the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging Transportation Department is seeking qualified applicants interested in expanding their administrative skills in a professional public service environment. About the role
You will be one of the first individuals that community members interact with, providing a positive impact on behalf of Wayne County’s Transportation Services for our Area Agency on Aging. This position performs a wide range of front desk and clerical duties to support drivers, supervisors, and caseworkers, as well as community members who are consumers of our services.
Responsibilities
- Trip Coordination: Take travel reservations from existing consumers; direct and communicate with drivers to ensure safe, reliable, and timely transportation.
- Customer Intake: Help new consumers complete forms to apply for transportation services.
- Data Verification: Check and ensure the accuracy of customer data, addresses, trip mileage, and reimbursement amounts and totals.
- Front Desk Communication: Greet walk-ins, answer phones, take messages, and provide accurate general information and reliable, courteous customer service.
- Clerical Work: Perform data entry, scan documents, and process mail; help maintain filing systems and ensure records are updated.
- Agency Staff Support: Meet deadlines in a timely manner and maintain smooth paperwork flow for case management staff.
Schedule
Full-time employment. Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule includes irregular, evening, and weekend hours. Occasional travel in and out of the county for meetings may be required.
Telework is not available for this position.
Requirements
- Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
- Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
