The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action. 12-hour rotating shifts (2-weeks of day shift and 2-weeks of night shift) for a total of 14 working days per month. (On-call days are required) Responsibilities Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutionsPrioritize calls according to urgency and importanceUse radio, phone or computer to send crews, vehicles or other first responders to appropriate locationsMonitor the route and status of first responders to coordinate and prioritize their response to emergency/non-emergency callsProvide first responders with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirementsEnter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information Requirements Experience as dispatcher recommended but not necessary Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods (CAD) Fast typing with experience in data entry Knowledge of procedures and guideline for emergency situationsProficient in English (oral and written)Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilitiesActive listener with excellent communication skillsSound judgement and critical thinkingHigh school diplomaMust be at least 21 years oldMust have Valid Driver’s LicenseMust Pass Background CheckMust Pass Drug Test Apply Now Job Details Category County Jobs Status Open Posted February 17, 2023 Closing Open Until Filled Tools Download ApplicationApply OnlineEmail ResumeJob Profiles
