Dispatcher

Primary function is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in day-to-day operations. The Dispatcher adheres to and promotes corporate policies and manages the general use of equipment, trucks, delivery personnel, and materials. Directs all activities concerning delivery, warehouse, and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Fast, accurate processing of sales orders, setting up job information, confirming, and generating appropriate reports
• Processing credit memos on the computer
• Assisting customers with will-call orders
• Supervising stocking crews, conducting performance reviews, employee orientation, and coordinating driver training
• Scheduling and dispatching crews to maximize time efficiency and monitoring labor costs on each job
• Computing payroll accurately and on time
• Training new stockers on safe and correct job performance
• Completing new hire and training paperwork in a timely manner
• Ensuring compliance with VCR program
• Managing triple count and job completer program
• Maintaining front counter, office/dispatch, restroom, and yard/warehouse cleanliness
• Ensuring trucks are clean
• Performing job in a safe manner

Requirements

• High school diploma (required)
• College degree (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math
• Ability to read a road/geographical map and communicate directions
• Organization skills demonstrated in job performance
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time
• Occasional movement inside the office to access files and office machinery
