Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials is seeking a Dispatcher to compile orders, schedule deliveries and drivers, and provide customer service.
About the Role
- Dispatch and control drivers needed throughout the day, making adjustments to maintain daily volume requirements.
- Maintain a professional and respectful voice over the phone/radio, with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
- Remain calm and decisive in a high-stress, fast-paced work environment.
- Solve problems promptly while fostering lasting business relationships with customers and drivers.
- Assist drivers in locating job sites and determine travel time to jobs, selecting the best plant locations for service.
- Accurately and promptly input orders to customer specifications for delivery.
- Review and verify accurate delivery and product information on orders prior to delivery.
- Perform in high call volume situations while multitasking with plants, drivers, and office team members.
- Coordinate driver timekeeping functions, including documenting time off requests and maintaining schedules for sick time and personal days.
- Conduct daily reviews of driver timecards, delivery time reports, and time entry/tracking.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Prior dispatch experience, tracking, and scheduling is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable.
- Computer skills: typing, internet navigation.
