What You'll Do
- Dispatch buses and support on-time route performance
- Oversee daily routes and bus scheduling
- Maintain route coverage and help resolve service issues
- Handle heavy phone and radio traffic
- Communicate with drivers, monitors, operations staff, and contracted customers
- Counsel and coach drivers and monitors as needed
- Receive scheduling concerns, driver concerns, and customer issues and escalate them to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager
- Serve as a primary communication liaison with contracted school district partners
- Help resolve drop-off and pick-up concerns
- Aid with charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as needed
- Support back-up driver duties or miscellaneous clerical duties as needed
- Complete assigned special projects
- Assist with supervision of day-to-day operations
Dispatcher Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or driver experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
- Computer literacy
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work some after-hours as needed
