The Application Dispatcher will provide clear directions and work orders to professional applicators, focusing on the most efficient execution of those work orders. This role involves close collaboration with Location Managers, Bookkeepers, Sales Agronomists, and Custom Applicators to ensure timely and efficient equipment dispatch, invoicing, and inventory management. The position also leads offseason training and equipment preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with agronomists and managers to organize application orders and fertilizer loads, ensuring efficient equipment movement.
  • Coordinates with agronomists and custom applicators to dispatch equipment to customers in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and timely loading of tender trucks.
  • Ensures clear maps and directions for applicators using MZB Dispatch systems.
  • Communicates with locations in the dispatch group to help manage staff effectively.
  • Manages and communicates inventory needs with locations.
  • Assists the Regional Management team in planning future operational needs for the region.
  • Manages assets for application services, including replacement, expansion, divestment, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Works with agronomists, managers, and customers to handle misapplication or non-performance claims.
  • Meets with applicators regularly to discuss performance and goals.
  • Identifies and coordinates training for staff concerning commercial application.
  • Works with administration to improve the electronic dispatching process.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, including OSHA, vehicle policy, fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year technical school; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous logistics, dispatch software background, and DOT regulations knowledge can be beneficial.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, and taste or smell.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
