Dispatch Communications Associate

Responsibilities

• Receives and/or relays radio communications, telephone calls, pages, overhead announcements, correspondences and teletypes.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all operational security systems and surveillance equipment.
• Maintains accurate daily logs and ensures quality assurance.
• Acts as a courteous liaison between the Department of Security and Hospital staff members, internal medical center departments, patients, visitors, and external law enforcement, fire, and EMS entities.
• Multi-tasks and maintains accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
• Operates telecommunication, radio access control, and CCTV equipment.
• Holds good computer and data entry skills.
• Possesses strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Alerts supervisor or manager about problems regarding department equipment as soon as they are discovered.

Requirements

• Current Basic Security Officer Certificate through the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) obtained before the 12-month probationary period.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and patients.
• Ability to perform tasks involving visual acuity, including near and far vision, and color vision.
• Sufficient mobility to move around the control center.
