Dishwasher/Steward (Part Time)

Responsibilities

• Load, run and unload dishwashing machines
• Monitor machinery for the appropriate soap levels and water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles
• Promptly report any technical or performance issues
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g., wooden serving tray, large pots, and delicate serving pieces)
• Wash and store all tableware, glassware, and kitchenware
• Handle and store objects carefully to prevent breakage and loss
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe work area at all times
• Bag, haul, and dispose of kitchen waste to an outdoor dumpster
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Restaurant Manager or Chef
• Aid and assist chefs in daily preparation of items, goods, and inventory

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Work well in a team environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Flexibility to work any shift including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Proficiency in English required. A second language is desirable
• Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 60 lbs
