Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward
About the role
Sweep and mop floors, wash worktables, and clean walls of refrigerators and other assigned kitchen equipment using designated cleaning chemicals. Keep floors and work surfaces free of trash, water, and debris to maintain a safe back-of-house environment and prevent workplace accidents. Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans, and wash by hand or in the commercial dishwasher. Sort silverware before cleaning; properly load and unload the dishwasher to ensure sanitation standards are met. Sort and store all clean china, glassware, silverware, chafers, coffee pots, pitchers, display pieces, and platters using proper procedures. Assist with unloading product from supply trucks and supporting the culinary team with kitchen tasks as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No prior dishwasher or kitchen experience required — a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are what matter most
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and back-of-house teammates in a fast-paced hotel restaurant environment
- Comfort working quickly and efficiently in a high-volume commercial kitchen setting
- Physical ability to stand and move at a fast pace for extended periods throughout your shift
