Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors, wash worktables, and clean walls of refrigerators and other assigned kitchen equipment using designated cleaning chemicals
- Keep floors and work surfaces free of trash, water, and debris to maintain a safe back-of-house environment and prevent workplace accidents
- Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans, and wash by hand or in the commercial dishwasher
- Sort silverware before cleaning; properly load and unload the dishwasher to ensure sanitation standards are met
- Sort and store all clean china, glassware, silverware, chafers, coffee pots, pitchers, display pieces, and platters using proper procedures
- Assist with unloading product from supply trucks and supporting the culinary team with kitchen tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
No prior dishwasher or kitchen experience required — a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are what matter most.
Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and back-of-house teammates in a fast-paced hotel restaurant environment.
Comfort working quickly and efficiently in a high-volume commercial kitchen setting.
Physical ability to stand and move at a fast pace for extended periods throughout your shift.
