About the role

The Disease Team Project Manager at UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a specified Disease Team. This includes ensuring adherence to protocols, managing the clinical research workload, and coordinating with various medical service units for trial conduct.

Responsibilities

• Ensures team adherence to protocols and compliance with sponsor requirements and federal regulations.
• Oversees auditing and monitoring visits.
• Manages quality assurance and quality improvement goals and objectives.
• Supervises staff to meet clinical research goals and timelines.
• Trains and mentors staff to improve quality and quantity of work.
• Assures timely and accurate design and submission of reports, proposals, and data collection instruments.
• Supports patient recruitment plan development and execution.
• Works with PIs and Director to plan and implement multiple phase I, II & III studies.
• Maintains and monitors regulatory paperwork and approvals.
• Participates in onsite study monitoring visits.
• Coordinates and oversees clinical trials from inception to completion.

Requirements

The Disease Team Project Manager requires nine years of related experience or a combination of education and experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Clinical Trial Professional certification is preferred within one year of employment.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Leadership and mentoring skills are also crucial, as is the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage a diverse team.

Skills

Proficiency in clinical research techniques, effective project management, and strong interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of clinical research philosophy and the ability to translate it into business practices is beneficial.

Pay

The annual full pay range for this position is $97,200 - $182,000, with a potential hourly equivalent range of $46.55 - $87.16. The actual pay will vary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position works a hybrid schedule combining both onsite at the Cancer Center and remote work.
