About the role
The Director of Total Rewards, as part of the Human Resources leadership team, contributes to the overall direction of the Human Resources function. This position is responsible for the strategy, development and implementation of total rewards programs to attract and retain talent. Ensures compensation and benefits are competitive, equitable, compliant and financially sustainable.
Responsibilities
- Leads the strategic direction, execution and management of teams responsible for benefits, compensation, HR technology, HR solutions center, and HR operations programs including mobility and executive officer benefits.
- Strategizes, designs and manages the execution, administration and communication of firmwide health and welfare programs, including group medical, dental, vision, life, short and long-term income replacement, voluntary benefits and retirement plans.
- Serves as plan administrator for the firm’s total rewards programs, interpreting plan provisions and resolving all claims and matters arising under associated plans.
- Manages relationships with external consultants, vendors, carriers and third-party administrators and lead RFPs, when necessary to ensure quality service is received.
- Ensures compliance of total rewards programs and practices, advising leadership of changes in regulations, associated risks and potential impacts to the firm.
- Promotes competitive and cost-effective benefit offerings, plan design, plan renewals and expansion of benefit offerings.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related area and 12 years relevant experience including 5 years people/project management experience overseeing total rewards functions.
- Experience in benefits strategy, design, and administration for a large organization.
Preferred
- Experience with vendor selection, contract negotiation, and knowledge of federal and state benefits legislation and compliance requirements.
