About the role
The Valley Medical Group and The Valley Hospital are seeking a Director, Thoracic Surgery to lead their comprehensive cancer care program. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled thoracic surgeon with a proven track record of leadership and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive thoracic surgery program that aligns with Valley's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide state-of-the-art care for patients with thoracic diseases, including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal disease, and foregut disorders.
- Develop and maintain a robust clinical trials program to advance research and treatment options for thoracic cancer patients.
- Facilitate educational opportunities for residents and fellows in thoracic surgery and related fields.
- Advocate for quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols within the department.
- Participate in academic activities, including teaching, research, and publication.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with board certification in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
- At least 5 years of experience in thoracic surgery, preferably in a high-volume academic setting.
- Experience with minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Current New Jersey Medical License, DEA, and CDS.

Pay
$550K to $600K starting salary range with uncapped RVU incentive.
