About the role

The Director of Subcontracts Management will lead the transformation of DEPCOM Power's Subcontracts capability, ensuring reliable delivery on EHS, quality, cost, and schedule commitments. This role is based in Scottsdale, AZ or remotely, and is a construction-first leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Set and drive the vision for the Subcontracts capability, engaging stakeholders and scaling the capability as the portfolio grows.

  • Build and lead a high-performing subcontracts team, ensuring clear RREs, regular feedback, and addressing performance issues.

  • Identify and close talent gaps, build preferred partnerships, and establish disciplined subcontractor selection processes.

  • Lead subcontractor performance, minimize change orders, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Apply construction expertise, hold subcontractors accountable, and ensure timely execution of subcontracts.

  • Develop and implement measures to assess and improve the Subcontracts capability.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on experience in construction and EPC environments, preferably in renewable energy projects.

  • Experience leading subcontracts or subcontract management, including MSA and project-level agreement negotiations.

  • Proven track record in managing subcontractor performance, change orders, and disputes.

  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team.

  • Strong understanding of construction software platforms like Procore, Textura, or similar.

  • Utility-scale solar or renewable energy EPC construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience driving self-perform vs. subcontract strategies across multiple projects.

  • Experience building preferred-partner or strategic sourcing programs with construction subcontractors.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed.

Pay

$180,000 - $220,000 per year

Schedule
