Director Subcontracts Management

About the role

The Director of Subcontracts Management will lead the transformation of DEPCOM Power's Subcontracts capability. This role will be based in Scottsdale, AZ or remotely, and will focus on construction and EPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the vision for the Subcontracts capability.
• Build and lead a high-performing subcontracts team.
• Identify and close talent gaps.
• Establish preferred partnerships with subcontractors.
• Lead disciplined subcontractor selection and ensure timely execution.
• Bring field-tested construction judgment to scope definition and performance management.
• Hold subcontractors accountable for work and minimize change orders.
• Build knowledge and measures for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Construction experience, preferably in solar or renewable energy EPC environments.
• Experience leading subcontracts or subcontract management.
• Experience managing subcontractor performance and change orders.
• Experience leading and developing a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Utility-scale solar or renewable energy EPC construction experience.
• Experience driving self-perform vs. subcontract strategy.
• Experience building preferred-partner or strategic sourcing programs.
• Exposure to construction software platforms.

Skills

• Strong construction and EPC experience.
• Ability to read, write, and negotiate multi-year contracts.
• Field-tested construction judgment.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.

Pay

$180,000 - $220,000 per year.

Schedule

Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time as business needs permit.
