Accountabilities
The Director, Strategy & Business Analytics will lead strategic analytical initiatives, uncover business opportunities, and provide executive-level insights that support informed decision-making.
- Independently lead analytical projects across multiple business areas, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and strategic outcomes.
- Proactively identify business challenges, performance gaps, and emerging opportunities that require deeper analysis and data-driven solutions.
- Translate complex business questions into structured analytical approaches by defining objectives, methodologies, and required data sources.
- Build advanced analyses, business models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that deliver timely and actionable insights.
- Present findings, recommendations, and strategic perspectives to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain self-service dashboards that provide business teams with visibility into key performance metrics.
- Apply statistical techniques including segmentation, regression analysis, hypothesis testing, forecasting, and other analytical methods based on business needs.
- Analyze machine learning outputs and translate technical results into practical recommendations for business leaders.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to address data requirements, improve data models, and enhance analytical capabilities.
- Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while balancing resources and focusing on business impact.
- Support the long-term growth of the Business Analytics function by taking on future people leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, coaching, and developing analytics professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business analytics, strategy, data analysis, or a related field, with a proven record of hands-on analytical execution.
- Experience presenting complex analyses and recommendations to C-suite executives and senior leadership teams.
- Experience partnering across multiple business functions and influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
- Strong SQL skills with regular experience extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of dbt and modern data transformation workflows.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis methods, including descriptive statistics, regression, segmentation, hypothesis testing, and forecasting.
- Ability to interpret machine learning outputs, identify relevant use cases, and communicate results to non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for executive stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to identify the right questions and determine the best analytical approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to remain composed during challenging conversations or changing priorities.
- Ability to receive feedback, continuously improve, and maintain high performance standards.
- Availability for a full-time position.
