Business Director, Strategy and Analytics

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands.
• Leadership: May manage and develop multiple analysts; coach and mentor associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One.
• Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One—including Tech, Product, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others—to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
• Strategic & Analytic Orientation: Decision making and problem solving based on analytics; strong quantitative orientation for rigorous analytic marketing and credit risk management.
• Strong Business Judgment, Leadership and Integrity: Tenacious decision maker with an aggressive yet responsible approach to business.
• People Leadership Experience: Build and leverage high‑performing team capabilities, foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold partners accountable, and consistently deliver results.
• Executive Communication Skills: Impeccable written and oral communication, strategic influencing, and negotiation abilities.
• Clear results orientation: Intense focus on achieving both short‑ and long‑term goals; ability to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain, fluid environment.
• Proven track record of thriving in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, dynamic environment; previous consulting experience is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
• At least 4 years of experience performing qualitative analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience performing people management.
• At least 2 years of experience performing project management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• 2+ years of experience in financial services.
• 1+ year of experience in consulting.

Pay

Full‑time annual salary ranges by location:

• McLean, VA: $230,400 – $263,000
• Richmond, VA: $209,500 – $239,100
• New York, NY: $251,400 – $286,900
• Riverwoods, IL: $209,500 – $239,100
• Chicago, IL: $209,500 – $239,100
• Other locations: salary range based on local market; actual amount provided in the offer letter.

This role is also eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
