Director - Strategic Sourcing

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director - Strategic Sourcing to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing efforts and develop category strategies that drive cost savings
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align sourcing strategies with corporate objectives
• Direct spend analysis to uncover optimization opportunities and enhance vendor relationships
• Utilize analytical methods to assess vendor performance and inform decision-making processes
• Assist business units in resolving vendor-related issues and challenges
• Manage special projects that align with priorities like diversity initiatives and regulatory compliance
• Oversee talent management functions for sourcing teams, including training and performance evaluations

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, contract negotiation, and vendor management in a highly regulated environment
• Deep category knowledge in Technology, Banking Services, and/or Enterprise Support areas
• Proven expertise in managing third-party risks through sound contracting processes and corporate governance
• Strong working knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as OCC and FRB
