Responsibilities
- Drives revenue, maximizes profit, and ensures quality through leadership of sales and marketing efforts.
- Manages assigned staff to achieve overall financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive business plan defining hotel sales objectives and supporting financial goals.
- Pursues business revenue goals and achieves Personal Performance Expectations for self and team.
- Solicits transient, group, and extended stay group demand generators to capitalize on revenue opportunities.
- Positions and markets the hotel using revenue/yield management to achieve maximum hotel profit.
- Advise and implement changes to sales and marketing efforts based on sales and guest comments.
- Manages sales, marketing, and catering expenses to maximize hotel profitability and increase return on investment.
- Manages labor through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
- Follows CSM procurement guidelines and applies good business judgment.
- Prepares and manages the department budget.
- Maintains company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
- Interviews, hires, coaches, disciplines, and develops sales employees.
- Evaluates staff performance and holds sales employees accountable.
- Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.
- Ensures guest satisfaction by developing and maintaining long-term, value-based client relationships.
- Communicates client needs from sales to appropriate operational departments.
- Solves complaints and concerns in a courteous and friendly manner, focusing on service recovery when applicable.
- Trains and models appropriate guest service standards with sales staff.
- Utilizes sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast, and communicate sales data.
- Documents information in Delphi on a daily basis to ensure integrity of sales data.
- Trains all sales employees and maintains training records.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales experience required, with 1 year of managing direct reports preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Able to problem-solve with employees and guests.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- High school diploma or GED required, with a college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Professional membership and community involvement desired.
- Delphi experience also desired.
