Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in capital equipment sales within the plastics industry or industrial manufacturing sector
  • Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and achieving growth targets
  • Strong technical understanding of plastics processing machinery (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region (50–70%)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow both machinery and aftermarket sales revenue
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to customer engagement
  • High degree of integrity, accountability, and initiative

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional team including machinery sales representatives and aftermarket sales/service team members
  • Establish clear performance goals, sales strategies, and professional development plans
  • Foster collaboration between machinery and aftermarket teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with company objectives for both capital equipment and aftermarket business lines
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
  • Oversee key account management and ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention
  • Collaborate with marketing and product management to align regional initiatives with national campaigns and product launches
  • Drive new machinery sales by prospecting, qualifying, and securing new customers within the plastics processing industry
  • Promote aftermarket offerings including spare parts, service contracts, machine retrofits, and training programs
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to enhance visibility and brand reputation
  • Manage regional sales budgets, forecasts, and expense control
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including bookings, margins, and market share growth
  • Ensure profitable sales growth and adherence to pricing and discounting guidelines
  • Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, molders, processors, and key decision-makers across the territory
  • Act as the regional voice of the customer to internal teams to drive product improvements and service enhancements
  • Ensure seamless customer experience from initial sale through post-installation support
