About the role
As a member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our renowned brands. This role offers opportunities to manage month-end close processes, lead retail financial systems and reporting, maintain internal controls, and support decision-making across various teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly financial closing, consolidation, and reporting processes for the retail business
- Ensure the accounting function is managed effectively and efficiently, adapting to business demands and changes
- Ensure reports and systems meet the needs of account teams and business stakeholders
- Maintain an effective internal control structure, including lease accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting
- Conduct monthly reviews of key accounts with the Controller and division financial management, identifying unusual items and variances
- Facilitate decision-making by reviewing accuracy of new store pro formas, relocations, lease renewals, and store closing/go-dark decisions
- Ongoing support and analysis to assist retail and real estate teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in accounting required; CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within retail or multi-location environments
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
- Prior public accounting experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 842 Lease Accounting
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and leadership skills, including team building, development, and coaching
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with SAP, S/4 HANA, or equivalent enterprise accounting systems preferred
