About the role

The Marketing Director will lead significant areas of responsibility across the Keenova Orthopedic business. This individual will focus on driving business and exploring innovative solutions to business challenges while building a strong orthopedic business with a lens on future indications in the orthopedic space. The role involves developing and leading key strategic priorities and the corresponding tactical plans to achieve the product’s financial objectives.

Areas of focus include driving the development of field sales personal promotion tools, leading non-personal professional, patient, and caregiver promotional efforts, and acting as the product champion with the field sales team. The Marketing Director will collaborate with field sales training and sales leadership to execute field sales tactics, ensure alignment of the tactical plan with the brand Advertising & Promotion Budget, and work with the Insights and Analytics team to monitor brand performance, analyze market trends, and recommend actions.

The role requires effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization to achieve compliant support and implementation of the strategic plan, as well as establishing strong relationships with external customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the brand/cross-functional team in executing the tactical plan to achieve financial objectives, including planning and arranging for training, market research, and sales training.
  • Develop and execute the portfolio strategy, including situation analysis, critical success factors, key issues, strategies, and financial objectives.
  • Serve as the key liaison with PR and consumer leadership to develop and execute strategy and campaigns with a focus on optimization and performance.
  • Act as the product champion and expert on all aspects of each product, leading the development of the holistic plan, including life cycle management strategy to extend business potential.
  • Direct the research and analysis of market, brand, competition, pipeline, pricing, promotions, reimbursements, disease, regulatory requirements, customers, and market access to understand the business environment and build on opportunities.
  • Define the scope of market research, deliverables, and challenge analyses.
  • Own and lead the development of financial objectives, product forecast, 5-year forecast, and budget, balancing resource allocation and marketing mix elements to operationalize marketing strategy.
  • Manage overall ad agency performance and the performance review process, including signing off on agency estimates and proposals.
  • Develop an advocacy strategy and resulting tactics, balancing budgetary constraints and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with sales leadership to plan for the execution of product tactics and integration of the strategy for sales meetings.
  • Partner with digital and omnichannel teams to enhance the customer journey and create a more effective communication platform.

Requirements

  • BA in Business/Marketing-related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience developing strategies, implementing tactical plans, and managing budgets, with increasing levels of exposure and leadership.
  • Understanding of the orthopedic business is preferred.
  • Record of successfully working with commercial, market access, clinical, sales, operations, and supply chain functions.
  • Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical sales is preferred.
  • Experience with Specialty buy & bill preferred.
  • Track record of successfully achieving business goals and working with cross-functional team members.

Knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of marketing business processes and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with a field-based sales force and addressing market access issues and trends.
  • Ability to assess product portfolio and commercial opportunities, and develop and implement business plans.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is $227K–$248K. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable program, awarded at the Company’s discretion.
