Director, Order to Cash
About the role
We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Director, Order to Cash to join our Accounting team. Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Controller, this role owns the end‑to‑end Order‑to‑Cash function — revenue operations, billing, collections, and payment settlements — for 8am. The role combines strategic process ownership with hands‑on operational leadership. You will take a function that already has strong revenue accounting and make it more scalable, more automated, and more connected to the rest of the business. The revenue function is a core part of this role’s scope, spanning both payments‑based revenue and SaaS/subscription revenue.

What you’ll do

- Lead operational oversight of the revenue function (both SaaS/subscription and payments‑based revenue) and partner with the Accounting Manager on ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Build a collections strategy that reduces aged receivables and improves recovery rates across customer and merchant segments.
- Select and improve billing, collections, and payment tools (Stripe, Workday, Salesforce, TSYS, Zuora) and create documented processes that cut manual work and error risk.
- Hire, mentor, and develop a team of managers and specialists across billing, collections, and payment operations; set KPIs and service‑level goals.
- Act as the go‑to partner for Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Risk on billing, collections, and payments; represent Order‑to‑Cash in pricing and product decisions.
- Maintain strong internal controls across billing, collections, and settlements; support audit and compliance work with the Assistant Controller.
- Champion AI adoption across the team to speed up close and reconciliation, reduce manual work, and improve forecasting.
About you
- 7+ years of progressive experience leading billing, collections, payment operations, or revenue operations, preferably in fintech, payments, or SaaS.
- Experience building and leading teams, including managing other people managers.
- Track record of owning and improving end‑to‑end operational processes at scale.
- Revenue accounting exposure (ASC 606) across both SaaS/subscription and payments/transaction‑based revenue is strongly preferred.
- Experience with payment processing, card networks, ACH, and processors such as Stripe, TSYS, or Adyen.
- Comfort with ERP, billing, and CRM systems (e.g., Workday, Zuora, Salesforce).
- Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel, and hands‑on experience using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to automate workflows.
