About the role

The Division of Facilities Management and Construction (FMC) is seeking to hire a motivated Administrative Space Analyst to join our team as Director of Workplace Services. The successful candidate will oversee a team of architects and engineers, manage the agency’s space portfolio, and develop workplace strategies to optimize the use of the agency’s real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or provide guidance to architectural staff in the programming of agency needs in accordance with the DCAS Space Standards to creatively maximize the use of space while meeting operational requirements.
  • Oversight, review and/or development of preliminary plans and construction documents to ensure programming and operational goals are met as necessary and direct staff on next steps to completion.
  • Provide oversight on the design, specification, procurement and coordination of furniture and office equipment for renovations and relocations.
  • Aid in the strategic space planning of the DEP portfolio.
  • Aid in the development of workplace strategies to better leverage the agency’s real estate portfolio.
  • Coordination with client bureaus and Budget/Purchasing Units to ensure furniture and equipment procurements proceed in accordance with project schedules and established budgets.
  • Coordination with Construction Services and the Asbestos Lead and Mold Remediation FMC task force of means and methods for project execution and tenant safety plans.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and five years of full-time paid experience requiring general knowledge of construction and construction costs, electronic data processing equipment, telephone communications systems, building standards and leasing procedures, in the evaluation and layout of space in office buildings, garages and other structures used for commercial and industrial purposes, at least two years of which shall have been of a supervisory nature; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Interior Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
  • Familiarity with workplace strategies and active office design.
  • AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office proficiency is preferred.
  • Experience in managing technical teams is greatly valued.
  • Familiarity with standards of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Building Codes, Energy Conservation Codes and LEED/Well Accreditation Systems.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently on projects with little to no direction.
  • Collaborative and cooperative leader with a focus on team building.
  • Experience managing various workstreams and/or managing a team of resources.
  • Extremely efficient, creative, resourceful, and strategic thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, confident communication and listening.
  • Experience managing budgets and schedules.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to tackle new tasks.

Pay

$83,718.00 – $200,000.00
