About the role

The Workplace Development team is responsible for delivering workplace projects across Verkada's international office portfolio. As a Designer for the International Workplace Development team, you'll partner closely with Project Managers and the International Director of Real Estate Development & Workplace to help translate design intent into functional, buildable, on-brand workspaces.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design and documentation of international office build-outs, expansions, and workplace improvements under the direction of Project Managers and the Director of Development & Workplace, International.
  • Aid in page turns alongside the design team to support the development and review of construction documents.
  • Read and interpret floor plans, furniture plans, and construction documents to help maintain design intent throughout the construction process.
  • Coordinate with procurement and external partners to source finishes, furniture, and materials that meet regional requirements and Verkada brand standards.
  • Support value engineering efforts by researching cost-effective material and system alternatives.
  • Help maintain and refine project templates, design standards, and workplace design workflows across international regions.
  • Partner with internal teams—including AV, IT, Security, and Facilities/Operations—to gather technical requirements and ensure workplace designs accommodate operational needs.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications across multiple concurrent international projects.
  • Prepare design presentations, project updates, and supporting materials for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to understand site-specific requirements and project constraints.
  • Support Project Managers in tracking design deliverables against project schedules and budgets.
  • Travel internationally as needed to support key project milestones.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, interior design, or commercial/workplace real estate development, ideally supporting corporate or technology office environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp; familiarity with project management or facilities software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction documents, millwork standards, furniture specifications, and workplace design processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, construction drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across international stakeholders and time zones.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage documentation across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with a desire to learn from experienced designers and project leaders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Cultural awareness and adaptability when partnering with international teams and vendors.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Flexibility to collaborate across multiple global time zones.
