The Director of System Physician & APP Services is a leadership role overseeing strategic development, administration, and optimization of physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) compensation programs and contracting processes. This role serves as a key advisor to executive leaders and cross-functional partners, helping shape solutions for complex workforce and financial challenges.

About the role

This position requires strong collaboration across HR, finance, legal, compliance, and clinical teams within a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate combines healthcare operations expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to navigate sensitive and confidential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, administration, and continuous improvement of physician and APP compensation models.

  • Oversee technical and professional resources supporting physician and APP compensation operations.

  • Manage physician and APP contracting activities in collaboration with recruitment, HR, legal, compliance, and operational teams.

  • Partner with executive leaders and business stakeholders to resolve complex compensation and workforce challenges.

  • Provide project management leadership for departmental changes, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

  • Facilitate alignment among multiple stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop and implement scalable solutions that support organizational objectives and evolving healthcare needs.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in healthcare administration, compensation strategy, operations, or related leadership roles, with the ability to manage complex projects and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional-level experience in healthcare, operations, finance, HR, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams, programs, or complex business functions.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic plans and operational improvements.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and execution skills.

  • Experience working within clinical, operational, financial, or healthcare administration environments preferred.

  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop practical solutions, and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience handling confidential information and sensitive business matters with discretion.
