Director of Surveillance

Job Summary

The Director of Surveillance role at Presque Isle Downs Casino involves overseeing the Surveillance Department. This includes managing a team that employs technology, intuition, and strategic thinking to safeguard guests, employees, and assets. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to creating a safe and exceptional experience for all visitors.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain and update department policy and procedures.
• Monitor and review requests and completed investigative reports, submitting findings to appropriate recipients.
• Assist with criminal, civil, or internal investigations.
• Maintain all investigative reports and surveillance coverage, ensuring proper chain of custody for legal cases.
• Identify needs for new cameras based on review quality, expansion, or remodeling projects.
• Monitor work performed by outside vendors.
• Create all surveillance logs.
• Inform other departments about policy violations affecting the integrity of the property.
• Prepare department budget.
• Manage department scheduling, including vacation and perfect attendance days.
• No team member working in Surveillance can have a familial or dating relationship with another team member.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Write speeches and articles using innovative techniques or styles.
• Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints.
• Calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Use intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Handle computer systems related to surveillance operations.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college required.
• Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in law enforcement or criminal justice.
• At least 5 years’ surveillance supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Talk and hear for proper communication.
• Exposure to smoke when on the casino floor.
• On-call 24/7.
