Job Summary
The Director of Surveillance role at Presque Isle Downs Casino involves overseeing the Surveillance Department. This includes managing a team that employs technology, intuition, and strategic thinking to safeguard guests, employees, and assets. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain and update department policy and procedures.
- Monitor and review requests and completed investigative reports, submitting findings to appropriate recipients.
- Assist with criminal, civil, or internal investigations.
- Maintain all investigative reports and surveillance coverage, ensuring proper chain of custody for legal cases.
- Identify needs for new cameras based on review quality, expansion, or remodeling projects.
- Monitor work performed by outside vendors.
- Create all surveillance logs.
- Inform other departments about policy violations affecting the integrity of the property.
- Prepare department budget.
- Manage department scheduling, including vacation and perfect attendance days.
- No team member working in Surveillance can have a familial or dating relationship with another team member.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Write speeches and articles using innovative techniques or styles.
- Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints.
- Calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Use intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Handle computer systems related to surveillance operations.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college required.
- Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in law enforcement or criminal justice.
- At least 5 years’ surveillance supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Talk and hear for proper communication.
- Exposure to smoke when on the casino floor.
- On-call 24/7.
