Director of Supply Chain

About the role

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the success and effectiveness of all Supply Chain Management activities for the business including purchasing, inventory control, production control, scheduling, planning, warehouse, shipping and customer delivery support and meeting strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, standardize, and implement the planning/provisioning methodology and supply chain processes across the Region.
• Manage department personnel activities related to forecasting materials, material planning, buying, procurement, receipt, storage, and inventory control.
• Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Negotiates with material vendors on sourcing, pricing, and material availability.
• Interfaces with internal management team and others on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
• Uses equipment and materials properly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Aviation/MRO materials management role.
• Experience working with suppliers and vendors. Strong negotiations skills and experience.
• Strategic mindset with regard to master planning and inventory management.
• Proven leadership and management experience to lead departments responsible for purchasing, planning, warehouse, and logistics.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills, well developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization.
• Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to set goals and objectives to meet Business Unit expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• APICS / CPIM certification preferred.
• Proven analytical and metric focused skills.
• Proven team player with the ability to see the big picture.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Direct Reports: 5-10 direct reports.
• Typical Working Conditions: Mostly indoors in an office type environment. Exposure to heat or cold is limited. Use of PPE required.
• Physical Tasks: Regularly required to sit or stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Regular use of hands/fingers for handling, holding, grasping and typing on a computer keyboard. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

• Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder.
• Travel: 5-10% as position may travel to other Ameron or North American MRO business or customer locations.
