KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the faculty or senior staff administration, this position is responsible for shaping and facilitating the development of students within a professional school as they prepare for a life-long career in the law.
- Proactively interact with students to hone leadership potential.
- Redirect student behaviors that are contrary to a professional learning environment and may lead to conduct issues.
- Actively participate and collaborate with faculty and staff to prevent issues through Student of Concern meetings.
- Provide oversight and guidance to the Student Bar Association to include budget management and fund allocation.
- Advise students on administrative processes to aid in their understanding and guide them to compliance.
- Develop and manage Wellness Programs for students within the school through existing community and university resources while developing new resources as appropriate.
- Develop and utilize the Houses and student House Leaders within the school of law to advance the non-academic professional development of the student body.
- Provide oversight of student organizations and student fairs.
- Serve on Law School committees as appropriate.
- May supervise or lead staff to include student employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor or master’s degree in an education-related field
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse constituencies, including those from underrepresented populations
- Previous experience working on sensitive issues requiring confidentiality, diplomacy, and mediation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited school
- Experience working in a law school
- Demonstrated experience with wellness programs within the legal profession
