KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direction of the faculty or senior staff administration, this position is responsible for shaping and facilitating the development of students within a professional school as they prepare for a life-long career in the law.
  • Proactively interact with students to hone leadership potential.
  • Redirect student behaviors that are contrary to a professional learning environment and may lead to conduct issues.
  • Actively participate and collaborate with faculty and staff to prevent issues through Student of Concern meetings.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the Student Bar Association to include budget management and fund allocation.
  • Advise students on administrative processes to aid in their understanding and guide them to compliance.
  • Develop and manage Wellness Programs for students within the school through existing community and university resources while developing new resources as appropriate.
  • Develop and utilize the Houses and student House Leaders within the school of law to advance the non-academic professional development of the student body.
  • Provide oversight of student organizations and student fairs.
  • Serve on Law School committees as appropriate.
  • May supervise or lead staff to include student employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor or master’s degree in an education-related field
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse constituencies, including those from underrepresented populations
  • Previous experience working on sensitive issues requiring confidentiality, diplomacy, and mediation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited school
  • Experience working in a law school
  • Demonstrated experience with wellness programs within the legal profession
