Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for the Student Conduct Office, including case intake, investigations, hearings, resolutions, and follow-up
  • Serve as the primary hearing officer for student conduct cases, including complex, high-impact, or sensitive matters
  • Establish, implement, and oversee a student conduct board, including recruitment, training, supervision, and ongoing development of board members
  • Manage the student conduct processes in alignment with institutional policy, including student rights, adjudication procedures, and alternative resolution options
  • Aid with the ongoing review, revision, and implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and related policies

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Work closely and collaboratively with Residence Life and Housing to respond to behavioral concerns, address community-level issues, and support residential student populations
  • Partner with residential staff to identify behavioral trends, develop preventative strategies, and implement coordinated interventions
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to implement individual and community-based solutions

Education, Training, and Leadership Support

  • Support education, training, and change management efforts related to student conduct for campus stakeholders
  • Maintain a visible presence at campus events and student activities
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students, faculty, and staff navigating student conduct concerns
  • Represent Student Conduct and Student Life on university committees, working groups, and campus initiatives as assigned

Compliance, Technology, and Special Assignments

  • Participate in Title IX processes as designated, including hearings, meetings, and investigations
  • Assist with alcohol and other drug education and prevention initiatives in collaboration with campus partners
  • Support the implementation and management of student conduct and student success technology platforms
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Residential Experience

On-Call Responsibilities

  • Serve in a secondary on-call rotation with the Director of Housing and the Director of Residence Life
  • Provide consultation, coordination, and response assistance during evenings, weekends, and after-hours incidents, particularly for situations with conduct, behavioral, or residential implications

Live-On Requirement

This position is a live-on role, requiring residency in a University-provided staff apartment. The live-on expectation supports timely response, campus presence, and close collaboration with Residence Life and Housing.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of progressively responsible professional experience in student conduct, residence life, or a closely related area
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a hearing officer and managing student conduct processes
  • Knowledge of student development theory, restorative practices, and student conduct best practices
  • Experience working collaboratively with Housing and Residence Life
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with students, staff, and campus partners
  • Familiarity with student conduct and student success technology platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and institutional systems (e.g., Workday or similar)
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in high-pressure or emergency situations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to emerging concerns

Salary Range

$50,000/60,000 year (Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.)
