About the role

The Director, Strategic Account Management - Language Services leads a team of Strategic Account Managers responsible for managing and growing enterprise healthcare client relationships. This role blends strategic account leadership with hands-on execution, driving client performance, retention, contract renewals, and revenue expansion across complex accounts. The Director is accountable for strengthening client engagement, expanding share of wallet, and ensuring language services programs deliver measurable business value while meeting performance and growth targets.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow strategic client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and revenue expansion
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), presenting performance data, insights, and growth opportunities to executive stakeholders
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies, including market penetration, share of wallet, and expansion of language services solutions
  • Build relationships with C-suite and senior client leaders, navigating complex, ambiguous situations to drive outcomes
  • Serve as an escalation point for client issues, resolving challenges and identifying growth opportunities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4-5 Strategic Account Managers / Senior Strategic Account Managers
  • Drive performance through goal setting, KPI tracking, and structured development (IDPs, performance plans, coaching)
  • Upskill team members from tactical account management to more strategic, consultative client engagement
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings focused on performance, development, and client outcomes
  • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Oversee account plans and ensure consistent execution against growth, retention, and performance targets
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, Client Support, Field Services) to deliver solutions and resolve issues
  • Manage pricing, contract renewals, rate adjustments, and margin considerations in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate performance tracking, reporting, and financial alignment across accounts
  • Travel (30-50%) to meet with clients, support team members, and engage in customer-facing activities to drive growth
  • Participate in on-site client meetings, relationship building, and business development efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in account management, client management, or sales
  • 6+ years of experience in a quota-carrying or revenue growth role managing enterprise or strategic accounts
  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing individual contributor account management or sales teams
  • Experience working in healthcare services
  • Experience managing complex client relationships and executive stakeholders (VP/C-level)
  • Proven ability to drive revenue retention, growth, and contract renewals
  • Experience leading client performance discussions using data (e.g., QBRs, business reviews)
  • Ability to operate in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, and execution-focused environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in language services or language access
  • Experience supporting hospital systems, healthcare providers, or enterprise healthcare clients
  • Background in consultative sales or strategic account management
  • Master's degree (MBA or related field)
  • Experience with Salesforce, Workday, or enterprise CRM/financial systems

Work Environment

Pay

$99,500 - $124,000 Salary. Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location. This position may include additional compensation such as bonus or commission.

Schedule

Travel required: 30-50% to meet with clients, support team members, and engage in customer-facing activities.
