Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service as a contributing member of the Hotel Leadership team.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders and colleagues, fostering an environment that exceeds guest expectations and supports career development within Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
• Direct and lead the day-to-day Spa operation, ensuring all standards are followed.
• Develop hotel-wide wellness initiatives targeting both group and transient segments.
• Understand spa industry trends, pricing strategies, and financial management to develop the Fairmont Austin Wellness membership program.
• Prepare annual budgets for all Spa departments, ensuring productivity and expense controls to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Ensure brand (including Loyalty & LQA), Forbes Travel Guide, and service standards are maintained, audited, improved, and celebrated.
• Actively participate in and lead all Spa/Wellness Capital & Renovation projects.
• Promote and sell customized Spa programs to conference groups and individuals to drive revenue.
• Collaborate with Hotel Sales and Marketing departments on revenue optimization and marketing strategies.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including their location, product offerings, pricing, promotions, and sales techniques.
• Drive retail product sales through demonstrations and hotel activations in partnership with vendors.
• Develop relationships with vendors to maximize sales and enable hotel-wide activations for guests.
• Create and lead the implementation of a 12-month marketing plan.
• Submit monthly report requirements, including business reports and treatment audits.
• Ensure team members are familiar with all areas of Spa operations, including product knowledge and retail sales.
• Assist in the recruitment, development, and training of all leaders and support staff.
• Balance operational, administrative, and colleague needs.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures, as well as all safety and sanitation policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience within the Spa/Wellness field preferred.
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications preferred.
• Experience in the Hotel industry is an asset.
• Experience and certification in one of the Spa disciplines of fitness or therapy preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
