About the role
We’re seeking a Director of Sales for the Separation Equipment Technologies team within the Food & Pharma Division. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth by creating and executing a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Alfa Laval’s financial goals. The Director will oversee all sales activities to enhance customer satisfaction and market reach, leading a high-performing sales team.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the business strategy for Separation Equipment Technologies in alignment with local Division and Central Business Unit strategies.
- Develop and execute a robust business plan, incorporating market analysis, customer segmentation, pricing, and marketing strategies to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Oversee forecasting of sales and budgets, and monitor performance against financial targets, identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead the effective use of the CRM across the business unit, ensuring data accuracy, consistent adoption, and disciplined pipeline management; analyze CRM data to evaluate team performance, forecast results, and drive data-informed sales strategies.
- Analyze sales and financial data to evaluate business performance, identify trends and risks, and drive informed commercial and strategic decisions; translate data insights into actionable recommendations for leadership and the sales organization.
- Lead business development and sales activities, including demand generation and pipeline management, to drive market penetration and customer engagement.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and adherence to established sales processes, particularly lead-to-quote conversions.
- Partner closely with the marketing team to help define and implement strategies for the Business Unit, including customer and competitor analysis, demand generation, pricing strategy, and market communications.
- Lead change management to adapt to new market demands.
- Review and approve contractual commitments per defined authorization procedures.
Requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field,
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in an industrial B2B environment, with a proven record of driving change and delivering results.
- Proven track record of using sales and financial analytics to drive business outcomes, including forecasting, performance management, and strategic decision-making in a senior sales or commercial leadership role.
- Experience developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Ability to develop and implement business strategy and drive through results.
- Strong and effective communicator to stakeholders across different areas.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
