Director of Sales - Hotel Tristen
Position Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving total hotel revenue through strategic leadership of sales, marketing, and market positioning efforts across all business segments, including group, transient, and catering/event.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development and execution of the Annual Sales & Marketing Plan aligned with revenue goals and market opportunities
Drive total hotel revenue through strategic management of group, transient, and catering/event segments
Develop and implement sales strategies that increase awareness, demand, and market share
Partner with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Analyze competitive data, demand trends, and market conditions to inform pricing and business mix strategies
Direct and manage all sales activities to ensure achievement of revenue targets and performance goals
Prepare and deliver monthly forecasts, reports, and performance insights
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, accounts, and community partners
Represent the hotel in the local market through networking, events, and industry engagement
Collaborate with Operations to ensure seamless execution of group and event business
Maintain accurate data and reporting within CRM, PMS, and revenue systems
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, fostering accountability and performance
Maintain a visible presence within the hotel to support team members and client relationships
Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel sales experience required; prior Director of Sales experience preferred
Strong understanding of hotel revenue drivers, segmentation, and commercial strategy
Knowledge of travel industry trends, local market dynamics, and economic factors
Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business
Demonstrated success in developing and delivering sales presentations and proposals
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
Proficiency in hotel systems, including CRM, PMS, and revenue management tools

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This role is primarily on-property and requires regular interaction with team members, clients, and guests.
The position may involve: Standing and moving throughout the hotel for extended periods, frequent interaction in guest-facing environments, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, participation in meetings, events, and on-site client interactions.

Flexible schedule required to meet business needs
Availability for evenings, weekends, and events as needed
Compensation
Salary Range: $75,000-90,000 annual
