About the role

The Director of Sales and Marketing is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and brand positioning for The Heathman Hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with revenue goals
  • Identify new business opportunities across corporate, group, and leisure segments
  • Analyze market trends, competitive set, and demand drivers to inform strategy
  • Drive top-line revenue through proactive sales efforts and strong account management
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory, and forecasting
  • Lead weekly sales strategy and pipeline meetings
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and community stakeholders
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery from prospecting through post-event follow-up
  • Partner with Marketing to drive brand awareness and lead generation
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure seamless execution of group and event business
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience (luxury or lifestyle preferred)
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong knowledge of the Houston market and key demand drivers
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and revenue strategy tools
  • Able to think strategically while executing tactically

Qualifications

  • Proven success in sales and marketing roles within the hospitality industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
